PUNCAK - In a remarkable display of unity and support, the 323/Buaya Putih Kostrad Task Force of the Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) has turned a routine security patrol into a mission of hope and empowerment for farmers in Papua Tengah Province. On November 27, 2024, during their patrol in Yonggolawi Village, Gome District, the Soldiers brought smiles and solutions to local farmers striving to expand their agricultural efforts.
Led by First Lieutenant Yudho of the Mayuberi Post, the patrol team encountered farmers diligently working to cultivate vegetable plots on their land. Engaging with the community, the Soldiers learned of their challenges: a shortage of seeds to match the vast area they hoped to plant. Prepared for moments like these, the Soldiers shared vegetable seeds they carried and offered hands-on assistance in preparing the soil for farming.
“Our interaction wasn’t just about lending physical aid, ” said 1LT Yudho. “It was about showing the farmers that they’re not alone in their journey. Together, we can achieve great things.”
The response from the Yonggolawi farmers was overwhelmingly positive. Grateful for the Soldiers’ timely intervention, they shared how this support reignited their enthusiasm for farming and bolstered their hopes for a more sustainable future.
HABEMA Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, praised the initiative, describing it as “a shining example of TNI’s dedication to strengthening communities while safeguarding them.” He added, “These efforts exemplify our role not only as protectors but as partners in Papua’s development.”
This inspiring collaboration between TNI and Yonggolawi’s farmers demonstrates the profound impact of blending security with social outreach. By sowing seeds both literal and figurative the 323 Task Forces are cultivating trust, resilience, and a brighter future for the region.
